Question and Answer

Q and A style interviews are a juggling act, with the interviewee needing to keep prepared messages, on-the-spot answers and control techniques all smoothly in play at the same time... or else!

These interviews, particularly on talk radio, are considered the most effective way to change or reinforce an opinion. The stakes are high, with the audience waiting to see if you'll 'drop the ball'!

Duration: 3-4 Hours (depending on group size)

Summary:

These interviews are often live and are the backbone of Talk Radio, TV Current Affairs (both local and overseas business shows), Lifestyle shows and Feature articles in print.

You can face questions from a range of sources starting with a well- researched, intelligent journalist and ending with the ill-informed confrontational 'shock-jock'.
Ironically it's the subdued, intelligent interviews that often cause the most damage!
Any Q and A interview requires clear preparation and specific skills. Many Q and A skills and techniques are the total opposite to the skills needed for a successful news encounter. It's vitally important to know which techniques to use in which area of the media!

This course highlights the real business benefit of Q and A interviews by revealing the "conversation behind the conversation" that occurs with every interview. Techniques and skills are taught and practiced, culminating in interviews and role-plays that represent the broad spectrum of this field.
